Who We Are
The Venezuelan Alliance for Community Support is a nonprofit organization that provides much-needed culture—and language-sensitive social and mental health services primarily to asylum seekers and their families. This effort evolved from the enormous unmet needs experienced by Caballeros Counseling and Psychotherapy Center, a private mental health service to Venezuelans and other Latinos. Venezuelan Alliance is here to help. We believe change is possible when we put our hearts and minds to it.
What We Do
Commitment. Transparency. Innovation.
These three values have stood at the center of the Venezuelan Alliance's mission since our founding. We are committed to supporting refugees and asylum seekers from South America. This community, despite the challenges they face, has shown incredible resilience. They fled their countries, crossing multiple countries' borders and traversing dangerous conditions. Uncertainty, trauma, and grief are just part of the toll left by fleeing their countries. The Venezuelan Alliance is dedicated to helping them heal from their trauma, adjust to a new country, secure a safe space, and establish a community. We are active New York City community members, calling for aid and support for these communities and inviting others to contribute. This mission drives the continued support of the Venezuelan Alliance.
